I got the pleasure of dining at The Lazy Fisherman a few weeks ago. When we drove up, it looked like a house that had been converted into a restaurant, but that down home feel is what I've missed being away from Tulsa since '97, which is last when I lived here. So I ordered a double-cheese burger and WOW. When they brought this monster out to me, my jaw dropped (and that's hard to do with me). Each patty seemed at least 1 inch thick and the cheese slice on each patty was at least twice as thick as a slice of American cheese from a grocery store. That was the thickest burger I've ever eaten (at a restaurant) and I've eaten a lot, from southern California (where I lived for years), Colorado (where I lived for years) & Oregon (where I lived for years). As soon as I saw this big man walk out from the kitchen, I knew he was the cook and I let him know that's the best burger I've EVER had. He thanked me and said that he cooked his burgers how he would enjoy eating them. It was very juicy yet it was also completely cooked & surprisingly was not overly greasy. Got all the fixin's on it and cut it into quarters so I could actually get it into my mouth, sideways, lol. The thick fries were equally good and I thought, I've found my favourite restaurant back in Tulsa area. My parents and their friends had the fried cat fish and they all got 3 big, long pieces in corn meal it looked like. Everyone loved their food. It was a great experience, unlike anywhere else I've lived and had me kicking myself for ever leaving! If I ever have friends to impress or if I want to treat anyone I meet here, I'm taking them to The Lazy Fisherman.

This is a really small restaurant with limited and mostly large table seating. It is absolutely worth the trip. They are known for their fried catfish strips. The original catfish meal is a awesome and a fun lot of carbs! Three fried catfish strips, cole slaw, hush puppies, "American fries", and brown beans. Plenty of great comfort food. Absolutely outstanding. They didn't have a whole lot of pie choices on Sunday (only one); but they did have Banana and that made my wife a very happy person (hint: that is very important). The food and the price were right on the money. We will be back.

We love the Lazy Fisherman. We usually go on Sunday after church. Their fish is fried to perfection every time. Their brown beans and cole slaw are outstanding as well. Service couldn't be more friendly and attentive. We have never had the pies because we are always full. They do look so good.

This place has some of the best catfish I've ever had. It's a small mom and pop type cabin with an unpaved parking lot in the more country side of Bixby. The special was about $12 and came with three strips of catfish, three shrimp, hush puppies, and three sides. It's definitely enough food to share! The service was super fast and the staff and owner are really nice. I will definitely be back!!

You won't find better fried shrimp or catfish in Tulsa County. A great family joint, just wear stretchy pants because they are going to load you up with plenty of delicious, down home cooking. I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes!
